Mind, Matter and the Unknown..

Today, I had an epiphany. For years, I mean years I fought with the dilemma of medication versus natural methods of healing. I sat for hours weighting the benefits of going natural at curing my ills versus healing myself naturally. I could never come to a conclusion so I tried looking outward for clues in my environment that would lead me to suggestions why natural was the way to go. At first, I would have to admit mother nature is awesome it has gotten along quite well the millions of years life has been around and has not really created as many problems in the environment. Well, at least I clung to that interpretation for quite some time until I started thinking that human's are very much part of this whole process of mother nature. Quite possibly, we are the macro-effect of mother nature working at a much higher level in our environment. Some may decry that we shouldn't meddle with nature but aren't we very much a part of nature. However, we should not hold to tight to this belief if we don't adhere to some form of ethics relating to manipulating nature or the environment around us in whatever form.

One area that recently has captured my interest and inspired me to think more deeply about are manipulation of mother nature and the environment is regarding exploring the human mind. I mean we could sit here for centuries reflecting inward like a Buddhist trying to travel to the inward areas of our mind and trying to locate some smidgen of meaning but it will usually be fruitless. I started thinking we need to create vehicles, devices or drugs to open up these unknown areas of our minds. People may discard it as hopeless dribble but it is an area that is real. I believe deep down there exist areas of our mind that are powerful and we need to learn to develop. However, I believe we evolved to a point we can not access those areas of our minds and we need some type of vehicle to reach that area. I believe like we built vehicles to explore space we need vehicles (drugs) to explore the inner space of our minds. However, don't take this as a license to abuse drugs because it is completely opposite. The only way to discover this powerful inner space of the mind is by using reason, rationale and scientific approach. There is an irrational area of the universe accessed inside the mind and I believe we can explore it by using as ironic as it sounds using rationality in the physical universe.. :) Because after all, the universe we see with our eyes is very rational and orderly.. But we know deep down and very below the surface lies our irrational universe were there is no order. Our mind is the gateway to the VAST/LARGE sub-atomic areas of the universe :)
